Welcome!
This is the OutChasing 5 newsletter.
Each week before your long run Saturday, I send out a quick five which consists of Fuel for Thought, a Quick Win, Inspiration Station, a Pro Tip, and a personal Sign Off from me or the team.
We’re here to silently or loudly cheer you on in your endeavor.
We’re here for you so reach out if you need anything!
Fuel for Thought
When it is time to meet your Maker...
God shows me all of my accomplishments.
I say, "You're wrong. That's not me."
He responds, "I know. That is who you were supposed to be."
Quick Win
Achieving your goals often feels like an uphill battle, but one of the quickest wins you can secure is having a cheer squad by your side.
Self-efficacy, or the belief in your own ability to succeed, is strengthened when you have people who believe in you and push you forward.
At OutChasing, we are committed to being that support system for you. Our pledge is to be your cheer squad, helping you chase down your goals and redefine what's possible.
Inspiration Station
Pro Tip
Everything you need to know about cadence. The short answer is you need to test what is right for you. Try a few months at a recommended cadence and see the results. For those running longer distance races, the article references Eliud Kipchoge and that the calculator would say he is running at 10% above his recommended cadence.

This is the first edition of something fun for me. I hope to inspire one person to achieve more than they thought was possible. If you like this reply back and let me know!
Currently, I am working through recovery from a tear in my hamstring. The moment I heard from my physio (on Tuesday) that I am cleared to start running, I immediately filled my race calendar for 2025. I am hoping to run Frigid Fox in January, Ironbull 50k in September, and the Midwest 100 in October. In an ideal world, I will pace my friend at the Cocodona 250 as well. Time will tell!
Lastly, I will say it is so important to know your why in everything. I believe our abilities are generally limitless given we know our why. For me it is my kids. I want to set an example that the pursuit of fitness and adventure will pay dividends to your body as you age and your mental health in every way. I believe focusing on these two things keep you young forever.
Also, adventure doesn’t have to be physical. It can be through new talents or hobbies.
Actively pursue an interesting life.
